.When Alexandra first started with artist oil paints at age 6, she had to learn basic chemistry because in
those days cadmium and lead were allowed in artist paints. Cadmium and lead are no longer permitted
in any paints because they will absorb through the skin and into the system. Queen Elizabeth I painted
her face and hands white with lead and developed the signs of lead poisoning before she died These
two chemicals are extremely poisoness and cancer causing. Alexandra had to learn how to handle these
pigments and mix them with different binders. A binder is what holds the pigments together whether it be
latex (rubber), acrylic (plastic), oil (usually a petroleum derivative), lacquers, enamels, silicones or natural
cosmetic ingredients. It was Alexandra's knowledge of chemistry that enabled Alexandra to read the
ingredients on cosmetic labels. She became horrified at how much petroleum, silicone & plastics are
being used as the binders for pigments in colored cosmetics and skin care products instead of healthy
natural ingredients. Pigment and dye manufactures sell the same pigments to paint manufactures that
they sell to cosmetic companies .There are more laws of requirements and prohibitions concerning
chemicals in house paints than for cosmetics and skin care products!!!
ALEXA NATURALS COSMETICS & SKIN CARE PREPARATIONS put quality before profits. We use
no petroleum in any form, synthetic preservatives, plastics or any type of synthetic oils, including
synthetic Vitamin E. We shop for the best buys in packaging. We use no throw-away boxes, expensive
labels or costly displays. We do not use cheaper natural ingredients such as soybean oil which has poor
penetration and often allergic reactions, useless herbs or fillers or irritating essential oils, such as
peppermint that will mask the flavor of rancid oils. In our skin care preparations, all water based soluble
ingredients are mixed in our SKIN FOOD And all oil ingredients are mixed together in SKIN LUBE. In
SKIN FOOD alone we have put the maximum amounts of active ingredients. It would take approximately
$600.00, several bottles found in other skin care products just to add up to the same percentages of
active ingredients found in ALEXA NATURALS Our cosmetics use the highest quality oils, plant butters
and active ingredients derived from herbs, flowers, barks, roots & leaves.
We use no pigments derived from aluminum or pigments that are coated with aluminum. Micronized
titanium dioxide is the base of the popular loose “mineral” powders and is coated with aluminum to make
it adhere to the skin. Our pigments are derived from minerals found in nature and are bio-compatible. We
use aluminum free titanium dioxide and zinc oxide as a sun block with at least a 10 sun block protection
or more according to how thick the application.

ALEXANDRA ODELL'S BIOGRAPHY
in 1068 the Baron of Odell received land from his friend William the Conqueror and the good fortunes
and magic touch of the Odell family began. Alexandra Odell is this generation's gift from the Odell line.
An artist of international stature, her work is in the private collections of Mrs. Ronald Regan, the
Rockefellers and Diana, Princess of Wales. Alexandra's prodigious talents appeared while she was
quite young. When she was only a six year old, her work was on exhibit at the Mint Museum in Charlotte,
North Carolina and at the White House. While she was in her preteens, her work was selected for an
exhibit in public libraries throughout the United States and was later exhibited internationally. Although
her parents were divorced when she was only two, she was profoundly influenced by them both during
these formative years. Her father was the renowned architect, A.G. Odell, Jr., the first Southerner to
serve as president of the American Institute of Architects. Her mother, Polly Robinson Wilcox, was a
socialite whose heritage connects Alexandra to a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Her
maternal grandfather was chairman of the board of the Duke Power Company. When debutante season
came around, Alexandra rejected the offer of debuts in Raleigh, North Carolina, Elsinore, Denmark and
Venice, Italy, for the opportunity of studying three-dimensional design and animated display under noted
designer Jack Pentes. Instead, she made her debut in Charlotte that year.
At the age of 22, Ecuador awarded Alexandra the coveted cultural visa. With nearly the same privileges
as a diplomat she was able to travel freely about South America meeting artists and craftsmen who
expressed many varied cultures and schools of thought. During her three years in Ecuador, Alexandra
designed and exported many fashions and accessories to fine boutiques and stores such as Henri
Bendels of New York City . Because of Alexandra's unusual and privileged education and travels,
through much soul searching, contemplation and constant dedication to the growth of her talents, she
has inaugurated a style of being that colors her actions to this day. Although she is profoundly aware and
appreciative of her family's influence, she has chosen to reject the outer social trappings of that stature
and seek the cultural and spiritual essence of her heritage. That essence can be experienced in her
work, especially in her portraiture.
The prolific diversity of Alexandra's work is the result of her abiding interest in all art forms. The vast
scope of her experiences and her value system is based on character rather than affluence. She has
been quoted as saying that the three major influences on her art have been "Walt Disney, God, and
body building." All three are apparent in most of her work. Her strong humor is at least partly a result of
the melding of these influences. It is magical, uplifting and always very human.
Just like Alexandra herself.
